How many FMO vacancies are available and out of those positions how many have been funded? Thank you.

The hiring number for this year is six. However, this is subject to change, based on the Needs of the Service, and funding.

Is it possible to give us an approximate number of people who are already of the register who are eligible for the FMO position?

While we do not provide info on the number of candidates on each Register, you can contact your Registrar to learn about your current Register status. If your ranking is high, the more chances you have of being offered employment. No guarantees, of course.

I would suggest that you contact your Registrar to ascertain your status. By doing so, you will get an idea of your chances for being called. Also, the number to be hired could change based on funds, etc.

I heard from someone who spoke with the registrar that State plans to hire zero financial management officers in FY 2012 and probably none before the end of calendar year 2012. This seems to contradict the estimate of six from above. Any idea which is correct?

The statement above is correct; in fact, we hope to have some FMOs in the September class. As always, things can change quite suddenly.

I spoke with the register just yesterday(9 May)and was told they will not be hiring anymore FMOs this year. Does this mean the plan to hire FMOs in September has already changed? Thank you.

I just spoke with the Registrar who confirmed that it is not expected that any more FMO's will be hired this fiscal year. Things can change, however, but at this point, no.
We do not know how many FMO's will be hired in FY-2013.
