OMS - Salary While in Training

Do OMS that are invited to training at the FSI recieve salary while in training in Washington, DC?
I understand we receive housing and per diem for food, but will we be receiving a paycheck on top of that?
I'm only wondering because my husband would not plan on quitting his job until I complete my training and ready to move overseas, nonetheless we would only have one salary to pay rent and support two children while I'm in training. I hope this makes sense. If anyone does understand would you please share any information you might have? Thank you.

Your first day of orientation is your first day "on the job." You will be salaried starting on your first day.
Those that are hired from outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (50 miles or more from Washington, D.C.) wil receive per diem for temporary lodging/meals/incidentals. (Sometimes, temporary lodging is paid for directly by the Department of State). Yes, you receive your pay check on top of that.

Also just so you know, while your salary starts on Day One, your first pay check takes about a month to get deposited (two pay periods' worth).
