Good afternoon,

I was wondering what the HHE, air freight and car shipment allowances would be for tandems? Do you receive the 8,000 max allowance and one car or are the limits increased?

Each member of a tandem couple gets his/her own shipping allowances, as they would were they individual employees not married to each other.

That's actually what we are trying to do. I read recently that four tandems went to class together and they all worked out to be stationed together. All you can do is try. My husband went to GSO OA and passed recently and hopefully I will pass mine as well. We'll see. Good luck to you.

Also, it would be easier if the jobs are different. If you are competing for the same job then it will be unlucky. If you are OMS and GSO it would be a lot easier. I heard that the CDO's try to help work it out.

The Department strives to assign tandem couples together but that is not always possible. You should be prepared to serve at different posts during your career.
