I submitted all required materials for the Chinese consular adjudicator position, but my application status was just updated to say that I do not meet the minimum requirements. On the State Department website under comments it says "indicated they do not meet the minimum qualifications for education." I am currently a senior in college and will be graduating this spring. Is it not possible to apply for the position until you have received a bachelor's degree? If so, this should be made clear on the job description. I was referred to the job by my college's career services center and led to believe that, as a graduating senior, I was eligible to apply.

The Vacancy Announcements for the Consular Adjudicator positions have all clearly included a bachelor's degree as a minimum qualification, so if you do not yet have your degree, you do not qualify.

Whoever led you to believe that the degree in hand was not needed was wrong.

This topic has been addressed many times on this forum, so it is always worth doing a quick search here if something is not clear.

Sure you'll have that degree soon, and we'd invite you to apply for future openings.

Ok, thank you for your quick response. I should have read the description more carefully.
