Hi,

Could you please shed some light on the hiring numbers for the previous years on Diplomatic Couriers?

For this year, they hired 14. Is that a low or a high number?

Courier hiring numbers are usually in the single digits each year as the courier service is about 105 in strength. This year was a higher than normal hiring year.

There is talk of a Courier class coming up in 2013 - possibly in the Spring. No info on number of slots. With regards to your standing on the register, because of the length of the hiring process, many people drop off the register or decline when offered a slot for a class. Be patient and reapply, if the position is readvertised. All the couriers really, really like their jobs, so it is worth the wait.

Get this though...I moved down a couple slots from the last post so my chances of getting a call are even slimmer.

Do you know the average hiring numbers for Couriers on yearly basis? They hired 14 last fiscal year. Any idea on what's to come next?

It varies year to year depending on hiring needs. There is no "average" number.

Do you know when they are going to be hiring for the diplomatic courier position. I have applied for this position on several occassions and passed the written part of the test.
