Sir or Madam:

If a candidate has been placed on the registrar for a Foreign Service Officer position and passes the BEX for the SA position, is the candidate required to go through the background and medical process a second time for the SA position? Are the two tracks treated separately?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

They are technically two different positions. The medical clearance is different. As far as the background investigation, well that depends on a number of factors once you get to that point. Whether or not they have completed your background clearance at the time you end up as an Agent candidate.
