Hi,

I am a graduate student and am expected to turn in my dissertation by September. Would I still be able to qualify for the Fall program? My grades will not be finalized until November, but I am technically finished with my course by September. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As you will be finished with your coursework by September, you would unfortunately not be eligible.

I have a follow-up question regarding this. Even though we submit our dissertations in September, we do not *graduate* until January. Most government agencies/international organizations allow students doing a one year Master's to intern during the fall as a student. Is this not the case with the State Dept?

If you complete your coursework by the fall, you would not be eligible to apply -- even if your actual graduation does not take place until January.
