As a Security Engineering Officer you can do quite a range of things be it wiring an alarm panel, checking the security of our State Department computer networks, to serving with the Secretary of State on her advanced team.
Personally, serving overseas has definitely opened my mind more. It’s been very educational, like I said before, learning more about the culture. Being able to learn about the cultures, to experience cultures different from American culture. Professionally, I, it just all, I don't know. It all fits together.
They provide us training so we have yearly in-service training to keep us up to date on new equipment that's coming out that we may have to maintain or we may have to install.
